Ruth Harvest bags will be available for pick up at the end of the school day in the nurse's office.

The answer to yesterday’s World Language trivia question, What is the traditional motto of the United States and what language was it written in? What does it mean in English? is:

The traditional motto of the United States, “E pluribus unum” (“Out of many, one”), was adopted in 1782 for the Great Seal. Written in Latin, it represents the unity of the original 13 states and the idea that people from diverse backgrounds form one nation. Latin was chosen because many Founding Fathers studied it and admired the Roman Republic as a model of civic virtue and republican government.

This concludes World Languages Week. Trivia winners will be announced next week. Don’t forget to view the student language posters in the cafeteria. Teachers and staff, please vote for your favorites—ballots are in your mailboxes and due today by 2:30 p.m.

Today's tip for your Dollars for Scholars application: make sure to include any financial awards from the school you will be attending. Put these awards in the "Awards" section of the application.

Today's tips: If you volunteer for more than one organization, list each one separately including the time you spend with each and the years you volunteered for each. Tip 2: Since many scholarships consider community service activities, include as much detail as you can. Don't assume the readers know the details about what a particular activity includes.
