The Advanced Placement English Language and Composition course is a challenging college-level course for highly able high school students with a strong interest in reading and writing. The course combines a survey of American literature with an intense writing curriculum and a focus on current topics in contemporary American culture. Students must complete a summer reading and writing assignment which is due on the first day of the school year.
Advanced Placement English 12
The Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition course is a college-level course for highly able students with a strong interest in reading and writing. College credit may be granted by the cooperating institution based on the student’s grade on the AP exam which is administered in May. The course involves intensive reading, writing, and crucial analysis of literary works. Included are units on the short story, poetry, drama, and the novel. Students must complete a summer reading and writing assignment which is due on the first day of school.
